My name is Samantha Hamel and I am the owner and artist of The Indie Blu. I have been working with macrame for a bit over 10 years now. I have been growing my business for the passed 4 years, creating natural works for many different spaces. For me, art has always been a form of therapy and a huge part of my healing journey, mind body and spirit, since returning to Costa Rica.

I first visited Costa Rica as a teen for a community service program. Thereafter, I moved to Cusco Peru to continue my journey in service, in hopes of creating an organization of art therapy teaching different mediums to local youth within the community. I spent time learning of different textiles, and how to incorporate my other passion of my connection to nature within each project.

 

Fast forward, continuing my skill development with macrame, I finally decided to make the jump and create a small business in hopes of connecting my energy, love for nature, and passion for art with others who felt called to include me into their space. I hope to continue growing The Indie Blu in my new found home, here in Costa Rica. Creating beautiful natural works that inspire people to deepen their connection with nature, themselves, and the world, all while trying to make a difference to support local youth within the community.
