Meet Chef Mark
Meeting Chef Mark was like getting a Playas del CoCo history lesson. His family settled in Playas del CoCo 50 years ago. It was so interesting to hear about all of the changes that our little town of CoCo has gone through. It was equally exciting to hear about Mark's business.

My Story...
Name? Mark Ramsey

Tell us about your Family? My family, who’s last name is Bragg, moved to Coco around 50 years ago from Louisiana

Where are you from? I am originally from New Orleans
​
Where do you live? I have a property where I’m learning to grow food just outside of Coco
​
Why did you move to CoCo and how long have you lived here?
I moved here with my parents to be with my mom’s family when I was 15 years old. I went to high school in Liberia and picked up my Spanish there. I've been here over 25 years now.

Do you have a job or own a business? Tell us about it?
One of the family businesses is restaurants and I was an owner of a beach restaurant in the early 2000’s. After becoming a chef and working as a cook in the French Quarter for a couple of years, I returned to start a private chef business and have been doing that ever since.

Do you volunteer in CoCo?
Yes, at the public Library

Do you have any animals?
3 doggies :)

What are your hobbies?
I am a musician and a Scuba Instructor

What are your favorite restaurants?
There are so many good restaurants in Coco that it is hard to pick a favorite
What is your favorite watering hole & drink? Escape

What is your favorite beach and why?
Playa Panama, it’s where I had my restaurant and where I got married

What is your favorite place to visit outside of CoCo?
The Rio Celeste area

Chris Farley is my spirit animal
