We are so glad you've found Mango Baby Beach Rentals! As the parents of three young children, we know how stressful it can be to leave the comforts of home behind. Our goal is to offer rental products to make your vacation enjoyable for both you and your little ones so you can truly immerse yourself in the PURA VIDA lifestyle of Costa Rica.
Meet John, Rebecca & Family...
Name? John and Rebecca Murray
Nickname if any? John was known as “Whitey” in our old neighborhood in the US.
Tell us about your Family? We are a Family of Five. Our oldest son Jack is 9, Fiona our daughter is 6 and Rocco (we call him Roquito) is 1.
Where are you from? We are from Pennsylvania originally, but lived in Charlotte for 8 years before moving to CR.
Where do you live? We currently live in Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste.
Why did you move to CoCo and how long have you lived here? We moved here to go on an adventure and to broaden our children’s experiences. We wanted to be tan, bilingual and experience a culture outside of our own. Covid really changed our perspective of what is important and what is not. Our corporate lives no longer matched what we valued as important. So we up and sold all of our stuff and moved to CR in July of 2022.
Do you have a job or own a business? Tell us about it? We own Mango Baby Beach Rentals.... Our company started as a service that caters to traveling parents in need to high end baby equipment rentals....But we do a lot more. We book transportation, tours, offer babysitting services as well as rent and sell beach equipment and merchandise.
Do you volunteer in CoCo? As a family of 5 with 3 children under 10 and only 1 car, we do not volunteer as much as we would like, but we are looking to change that in 2023.
Do you have any animals? Yes, we just finally brought our fur babies home to us in January. They had been staying at my sisters in Florida since July. Our family is now complete. 2 dogs..... both boxers. One small, old and smart and the other gigantic,
young and dumb.
What are your hobbies? Watching the sunset and spending time on the beach. Rebecca walks the beach every day and John is a gym enthusiast. We watch sunset every night
on beach or from our deck with our family.
What are your favorite restaurants? Buzzed Monkey, Coconutz, Pawhouse Roasters and Foodnication
What is your favorite watering hole & drink? Coconutz, Get Tanked, Pawhouse Bistro....
Favorite drink is an Uncle Lee named after my Uncle Lee from Philly.... You can find it at Pawhouse Bistro....Delish
What is your favorite beach and why? Playa hermosa.... So close and pretty perfect. Ocatal is pretty special though with the rocks and natural pools caused by the tides.
What is your favorite place to visit outside of CoCo? Tamarindo
Tell us a fun story about your adventures in CoCo? I am a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan.... And I have slowly been donating Eagles gear/merch and clothing to restaurants and street vendors.... Hoping that over time Costa Rica will be fully an Eagles Country :)
Tell us something that most people don’t know about you? Rebecca is a lawyer by trade and John has one superpower, but it's kind of a useless one. His hair is very soft.... Like a kitten. Totally useless superpower. He wishes he had a good superpower like flight or super strength.... Nope.... Just a Cat Head.
