Name: Cindy Kaminski
Tell us about your Family: We are a blended family of 6. My husband Don and I have been married for 11 years and we have 4 children together. Lindsay lives in California; Michael & Patrick live in Chicago and Jeffrey lives in Atlanta.
Where are you from: I am originally from Grand Blanc, Michigan, lived most of my adult life in Northwestern Indiana, south of Chicago.
Where do you live: Playas del CoCo, Costa Rica
Why did you move to CoCo and how long have you lived here: We moved to CoCo in June of 2021
Do you have a job or own a business? YES! I am the co-founder with Mandy Adams of CoCo4Expats, also a co-founder of Kaminski's Hot Sauce with my husband Don and the sole owner of my new travel agency Live Now Travel Group
Do you volunteer in CoCo: YES! I work with CoCo4Expats on many volunteer projects in our local communities: painting the reductors/speedbumps, cleaning out the parkway in CoCo, partnering with Adicoco for the betterment of CoCo, partnering with Mission Activation Clinic to facilitate mammogram screening, worked and working with local schools in Hermosa & CoCo.
Do you have any animals: We have a Yorkie named Chance and our crazy rescue dog (costa rican pure bread) named Ozzie.
What are your hobbies: P I C K L E B A L L !!! & hate to brag but I am an amazing baker
What are your favorite restaurants: This is a tough one as we have soooo many amazing restaurants. With that said... currently (Buzzed Monkey, Verde Salvia, Pina Shack, Bar Jali & Maracuya)
What is your favorite watering hole & drink: Well I'm on a 75 day alcohol break with my 75 Hard Program... However, I'm a prosecco girl all the way - so love a prosecco at Pacifico Beach Club and hands down CAVA!!!
What is your favorite beach and why: Playa Hermosa - just my vibe... love hanging out at Roberto's and chillin under the tree's and enjoy the ocean & views. I also love the beach at the national park in Manuel Antonio (just amazing)
What is your favorite place to visit outside of CoCo: Manuel Antonio for sure (my happy place in country)
Tell us a fun story about your adventures in CoCo: Our first day living in CoCo... we decided to take a tour of our new town prior to our real estate closing. We saw a sign for The Lookout Restaurant and decided to explore. We accidentally drove past The Lookout and kept driving up and up and up. We got to a point that our rental car started sliding back down the steep incline and we were barely able to turn around... we thought we were going over the edge and our new adventure living in Costa Rica was going to end before it got going. Thank God... we made it back... for obvious reasons... we were in no need of caffeine that morning... LOL (p.s. - you know you are SCARED STRAIGHT when neither of us yelled at each other... total silence)
Tell us something that most people don’t know about you: I am claustrophobic!
